Privacy Policy — NMAA Inspector
Positive Friction L.L.C. · Effective August 5, 2026
NMAA Inspector is a professional tool for licensed New Mexico vehicle
inspectors and participating dealers. Accounts are created by the New
Mexico Auto Advisors (NMAA) administrator; the app is not intended for
general consumer use.
Information the app collects
- Account information: your name, email address, and
inspector or dealer credentials, provided when NMAA creates your
account.
- Inspection records: vehicle details (VIN, odometer,
condition findings), photos you capture during an inspection, and the
forms you complete. These are submitted to NMAA's servers as part of the
official inspection record.
- Voice input: when you use voice entry, audio is
processed by your device's speech-recognition service to convert speech
to text. The app stores only the resulting text, never audio
recordings.
- Device information: device model, operating-system
version, and app version, attached to inspections for support and
quality tracing. No device identifiers (IMEI, serial number, advertising
ID) are collected.
What the app does not do
- No advertising, no analytics trackers, no sale or sharing of
personal data with third parties.
- No location tracking.
- Camera and microphone are used only when you actively take an
inspection photo or use voice entry.
How data is used and stored
Inspection data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) to
NMAA's systems, where it forms the official record required under NMAC
12.2.14. Photos held on your device while an inspection is in progress are
removed from the device after successful submission. Data is retained by
NMAA per its regulatory record-keeping obligations.
Your choices
You may decline camera or microphone permissions in your device
settings; related features (photo capture, voice entry) will be
unavailable but manual entry remains. To correct or delete account data,
contact the NMAA administrator.
